Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the leading cause of several deaths worldwide. The Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors (GBD) has conducted several studies on CVD and claimed that there are approximately 88 risk factors for cardiac diseases (Mc Namara et al., 2019; Dong et al., 2022). This study further revealed that the cases of cardiovascular diseases raised from 271 million in 1990 to 523 million in 2019.

Additionally, the deaths related to cardiac issues increased from 12.1 million to 18.6 million from 1990-2019 (Roth et al., 2020). Studies above advocate the need for effective treatment plans and care for cardiovascular patients hence nurses must be well-equipped with the knowledge of finding credible resources in this regard.
The focus of this report is to enable a new staff nurse effectively plan treatment and care for a patient who has had a pre-diagnosed Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) for the past 4 years. This resource will have the nurse to better plan care management strategies for this patient. In this report, ideal communication strategies will be discussed that nurse leaders can employ to assist the newly trained nurse in researching the diagnosis. Moreover, some credible recourses will be shared which can be used to create efficient care plans for the patient with Coronary Heart Disease.
Communication Strategies
Along with interprofessional communication, the interaction between nurses plays a significant role as well to build professional relationships and enhancing collaboration. Senior nurses and nurse leaders must create a collaborative environment for trainee nurses so that effective patient outcomes are achieved. Ensuring effective communication between novice and senior nurses assists novice nurses in their transition period and shows that new nurses are adequately supported by senior staff (Chao et al., 2021).
Communication strategies like open communication further enhance the learning process and build a trustworthy relationship between them. This enables new nurses to effectively research their patients’ diagnoses and improve their nursing practice using evidenced-based guidelines (Malatji et al., 2022). Another communication strategy that will help build professional competency is actively listening to their concerns and then responding to them using professional experiences. Prior experiences help new nurses in building their clinical concepts resulting in developing their knowledge for effective patient care.
For example, reflecting on an experience where a senior nurse got stuck with a patient with an unusual diagnosis and how they overcome the challenge will motivate new nurses to do similar or better to improve their clinical practices. These communication strategies help in building both a professional collaborative relationship among the workforce as well as building the competency of new nurses to effectively work together in bringing positive outcomes for the patient a study mentions that better teamwork and collaboration improve healthcare for patients by decreasing mortality and morbidity for them hence improvement quality and patients’ safety (Zajac et al., 2021).
The Best Places to Complete the Research
It is significant to find credible resources for any information needed so that reliable information is passed from nurses to their patients. For this purpose, a test is established to evaluate the credibility of sources. It is important to understand the CRAAP test first before identifying the best places to complete the research. CRAAP is an acronym for currency {how up-to-date is the source?}, relevance {is it relevant to the research topic?}, authority {How is the source authorized-author and publishing journal}, accuracy {is it accurate and the claims are well-supported with research?}and purpose {what is the reason behind the research?} (Esparrago-Kalidas, 2021).
To access the best resources, nurses can utilize Capella University’s library, online educational resources, and online journals which will be shared further in this assessment. The reason for the utilization of health care facility’s resources is to find organization-relevant information that can be incorporated into the care process without further investigating their relevancy of them.
The Five Credible Sources for Effective Research
According to Scimago Journal and Country Ranking, the top best five sources for evidence-based research related to cardiovascular diseases are the Journal of American College of Cardiology, JAMA Cardiology, Circulation, Nature Reviews Cardiology, and JACC Cardiovascular Imaging.
